Privacy

This page is maintained by the English Assessment Copilot team to explain how the app handles data. It describes current product behaviour and is not an independent certification.

What we store

When you create an account we store your email address and, if you provide them, your name and school. For each assessment we store the assignment, learning objective, CEFR level, rubric, the student writing you paste, and the generated report.

Who can see your assessments

Assessments are scoped to the account that created them. Database access rules (row-level security) restrict every read and write to your own user account, so other users of the app cannot read your students' work.

Where data is hosted

Accounts and assessments are stored in a managed cloud database hosted in Europe. Assessment text is sent to our AI provider only at the moment you request an assessment, in order to generate the report you asked for.

Student data guidance

You control what identifying information you enter. We recommend using first names, initials or class codes rather than full student names, and following your school's own data protection policy when submitting student writing.

Deletion

You can delete any assessment from your history at any time, which removes the stored writing and report. To delete your whole account and all associated assessments, contact us and we will action it.

Cookies

The app stores a session token in your browser so you stay signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.
